The problem of drought in Northern Italy: Lake Garda is holding on!

news
It is very true, Lake Garda is suffering from the great period of drought that particularly affects northern Italy, due to the scarcity of rain. Our lake basin is estimated to have retreated 34 centimeters in the last month, now being around 40% of its fill.
However, we want to reassure all our future guests, especially those who have never stayed in our campsite and have never had the opportunity to visit these magical places. Lake Garda is the largest in Italy, has a length of 51.5 km and a maximum width of 17.5 km, with a maximum depth of 346 meters. Not a small basin then!
About 70 cubic meters per second of water come out of Lake Garda for the sustenance of agriculture on the Mincio and, of these, 20% in the river Po. A sign of great solidarity and health of our wonderful Lake Garda.

The situation of the other lakes in the vicinity
Lake Iseo and Lake Idro, on the other hand, suffer from this drought more severely, as they are much smaller basins than Lake Garda. The first is only 6.7% full with a level -21.4 cm below hydrometric zero. The second has practically no more water at the entrance from the river Chiese.

We therefore hope for abundant rains in the coming weeks, in order to heal this situation, but don't worry ... we are waiting for you with open arms for your special holidays on Lake Garda guests of Camping Baia Verde in Manerba. The only attention? Do not light open flames in the campsite (barbecue, etc.), in order to always guarantee the maximum possible safety. Ready, set, go ... great dives in the fresh water of the lake await you!
